BBC Two returns to Two Doors Down

Series 4 starts filming soon

BBC Two has ordered a fourth series of  Two Doors Down.

Filming is about to start in Glasgow, star Arabella Weir confirmed on Twitter last night.

The series also stars Doon Mackichan, Jonathan Watson, Elaine C. Smith, Jamie Quinn, Kieran Hodgson and Alex Norton.

BBC head of comedy Shane Allen also said that the sitcom set in the fictitious Latimer Crescent, was to return in a letter to a Radio Times reader yesterday – when he also confirmed that period medical sitcom Quacks had been dropped.

Series creator Simon Carlyle has described the show as being about ‘crazy neighbours’, adding:  ‘We’ve all got them. They seem OK, but when you scratch the surface they’re a bit nuts.’

The first series began airing April 2016 – three years after a successful pilot set on New Year’s Eve. A second series followed later that year.

Series 3, which aired in January, opened with a strong 1.3 million overnight viewers, almost 500,000 higher than the 10pm slot average and up 200,000 on the series two opener.
