New comedy award for Yorkshire comic

Maisie Adam has won this year’s Amused Moose New Comic Award.

It is the Yorkshire comic’s second prize for her trophy cabinet, having scooped So You Think You're Funny? at the Edinburgh Fringe last year

The event also crowned London-based comics Joe Hobbs and Stephen Trumble as Breakthrough Comedian and People’s Champion respectively.

Also in the final were Barney Iley, Jack Harris, Josh Baulf, Louise Atkinson, Oisin Hanlon and Rosie Holt.

There is no cash prize, but Adam will be hoping to follow in the footstep of previous finalists including Jimmy Carr, Greg Davies, Jack Whitehall, Sarah Millican and Simon Amstell.
