New Netflix series for Jimmy Carr and Katherine Ryan

Panel show to fix the world's problems

Jimmy Carr and Katherine Ryan are to star in a new comedy panel show for Netflix.

Carr will host The Fix, with Ryan one team captain and D.L. Hughley the other.

In each of the ten episodes the teams, comprising guest comics and experts, will take one massive issue facing the world and attempt to solve it.

Ryan and Carr already host Your Face Or Mine together for Comedy Central in the UK, pictured, and also appeared together on the broadcaster’s recent Roast Battles.

Carr and Ryan were also the first and second  British-based comedians respectively to have an original comedy special released globally by Netflix. Ryan is also currently writing a scripted project for the streaming giant.

The Fix is being made by Embassy Row, which also produces Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, among many others.

It is one of three unscripted series announced by Netflix today. The others are Westside, showcasing the work of young musicians, and Sugar Rush,  a fast-paced baking competition.

Ryan is also set to host the stand-up showcase The Stand Up Show with Katherine Ryan in her native Canada, which will be filmed at Montreal’s Just For Laughs festival next month and later broadcast on The Comedy Network.

Katherine Ryan has announced a one-off performance during the Edinburgh Fringe. She will be performing her Glitter Room stand-up show at the Playhouse on August 16. Tickets go on sale on Friday.
