Britain's Got Talent voting statistics announced

The margin of Lost Voice Guy’s victory on Britain’s Got Talent last night has been revealed.

Lee Ridley garnered more than 20 per cent more votes than runner-up Robert White and almost twice as many as third placed Donchez Dacres.

Although exact numbers of votes cast have not been revealed, Ridley attracted 21 per cent of the total poll to become the first comedian to win the ITV talent show in its 12 series.

For comparison, White got 17. 2 per cent of the vote, with singer Dacres at 11.2 per cent, the same as  Gruffyd Win Roberts, who therefore only narrowly missed being in the top three.

More impressively, it was also revealed that Ridley – who has cerebral palsy and performs with a speech synthesiser  –  won his semi-finals with 40.5 per cent of the vote, almost twice as many as that show’s runners-up, D-Day Darlings at 21.3 per cent.

Last night’s final attracted its highest audience in three years, with an average of 8.7 million viewers – half a million up on last year – and peaking at  10.6 million viewers.
