End of the line for People Just Do Nothing

Pirate radio comedy to stop after next series

People Just Do Nothing is to come to an end, the BBC has revealed.

Last month Chortle broke the news that production had started on the fifth series of the Bafta-winning comedy.

Now the BBC has revealed that it is to be the last outing for the presenters of West London pirate radio station Kurupt FM.

The final series will also air on BBC Two, not just the online-only BBC Three where it started.

Comedy chief Shane Allen said: ‘This swansong series sees the gang end things on a high, although to be fair they’ve been fairly high since day one.

‘The love for this show is immense and we want to see them off in style but aren’t expecting Kurupt FM to be any more respectable on Two.’

The last series ended with a police radio on the radio station, with the broadcast equipment confiscated DJ Steves arrested for drug possession. Meanwhile, newlyweds Miche and Grindah have to come to terms with the news that their housing block in Brentford is to be demolished, leaving them needing a new home.

People Just Do Nothing was created by its stars Allan Mustafa, Steve Stamp, Hugo Chegwin and Asim Chaudhry, and first aired in 2014.
