Frankie Boyle: I walked out of a sexist corporate gig

Comic witnessed offensive behaviour

The notorious Presidents Club party where hostesses were groped by rich businessmen has put a welcome focus on sexist culture.

Now Frankie Boyle has revealed how he once walked out of a corporate gig where he was performing after witnessing such appalling behaviour first-hand.

The comic – no delicate snowflake – said: ‘I walked out of performing at a corporate once because a guest got on stage and slapped a female performer on the bottom.’

He added on Twitter: ‘When I told the organiser I was leaving they were genuinely baffled and explained, "It’s Christmas".’

Most of his followers praised his move, but a few suggested a degree of hypocrisy given his past record of making jokes deemed sexist.

David Walliams has come in for a lot of flak for his role hosting the Presidents Club event, where 360 men were entertained by 130 hostesses in short dresses and high heels.

However, the wealthy author insists he saw none of the harassment described.

He said: ‘I was there in a strictly professional capacity and not as a guest. I left immediately after I had finished my presenting on stage at 11.30pm.

‘I did not witness any of the kind of behaviour that allegedly occurred and am absolutely appalled by the reports.’
