New tours for Ellie Taylor and Mae Martin

Autumn dates announced

Ellie Taylor and Mae Martin have both announced autumn tours.

Taylor’s show was inspired by the question she’s forever being asked as a married woman in her 30s: ’Are you going to have a baby?’, prompting her to consider motherhood despite having no maternal instinct.

Career-wise, Taylor has been stepping in for Emma Bunton on the Heart Breakfast show this summer and is also part of the cast of BBC2's The Mash Report, hosted by Nish Kumar, which will be airing from July.

Her 20-date tour follows an Edinburgh Fringe run, kicking off in Sudbury’s Quay Theatre on October 7 and ending at the Norwich Playhouse on December 1. Click here for her full schedule

Meanwhile, Martin will be touring the UK for the first time with her show, Dope.

Also launching at the Fringe, the show is about the instant gratification of short-term pleasure compared to the long-term consequences, and was a hit at the  Melbourne International Comedy Festival earlier this year.

It starts with a two-week run at London’s Soho Theatre in September, followed by 17 dates around the country from Oxford on October 10 to Coventry on  November 11.

Martin recently won a Canadian Screen Award for her writing on all-female CBC comedy series Baroness Von Sketch Show.
