Fawlty Towers gets a vinyl release

A tight 5: March 22

FAWLTY TOWERS is to be released on vinyl to mark Record Store Day. Two episodes – Communication Problems and The Hotel Inspectors – will feature on the limited-edition picture disc, put out by Demon Records to encourage people to visit record shops. It is one of more that 500 discs that will be available only through independent stores on April 22.

LONDON’S Bloomsbury Theatre is to reopen in autumn 2018, its owners at University College London have announced. The 547-seat venue hosted many comedy tour shows before it suddenly closed in 2015 when asbestos was found in the building. UCL says that when it reopens UCL says it will be used for more student productions and academic work, with commercial shows in curated seasons.

FEMALE comedy trio Muriel – Sally O'Leary, Meg Salter, and Janine Harouni, won the Sketch Off! competition run by London’s Leicester Square Theatre on Monday night. Second place went to Giants and third place went to duo Crizards. Here is a sketch from Muriel.

THE Dave channel has announced a launch date for series four of Taskmaster. The show, with Lolly Adefope, Hugh Dennis, Noel Fielding, Mel Giedroyc and Joe Lycett taking on challenges set by Greg Davies and Alex Horne will launch on April 25.
