W orders two more series of In Conversation With

John Bishop’s chat show In Conversation With… has been commissioned for two new series.

Entertainment channel W has ordered another 20 hour-long one-on-one interviews following the rating success of the first series last autumn.

The show launched with ratings of 607,000 – more than five times the channel’s average in the slot – although it slipped back to 126,000 by the end of the run.

No names have yet been announced for the  second and third series - both of which will air this year – but guests on the first included James Corden, Jo Brand, Charlotte Church, Steve Coogan.

Bishop said: ‘In Conversation With… was an idea I had for a number of years, based on the classic interview shows of the past, where a show would have only one guest. When we pitched the idea to W, they immediately shared the vision. Series one was a great success with such a diverse range of guests, so I cannot wait for series two and three to start.

Steve North, W's general manager, added, that the show ‘gave the viewers an eye-opening insight into the lives of their favourite stars.  With John at the helm, a brilliant variety of guests and the success of the first series, it’s fantastic that we can continue the journey and welcome a whole host of new guests.’
