Still Game returns to the stage

New show announced for Glasgow

Still Game is to return to the stage for another live show.

Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill have today announced a return to Glasgow’s SSE Hydro Arena in February.

The news comes as the TV show returns to BBC One on October 7 after a nine-year absence.

The pair, who play pensioners Jack and Victor, previously reassembled the cast in autumn 2014 for a record-breaking 21-night run at the same venue, performing to more than  210,000 fans.

The initial run of an all-new show will be from February 4 to 11, with matinees as well as evening shows on Saturday and Sunday.

Also returning are cast members Paul Riley, Jane Mccarr, Mark Cox, Sanjeev Kohli and  Gavin Mitchell

Tickets go on general sale from 10am next Friday, October 7.

When the 2014 run went on sale demand crashed the venue’s box office system, with more than  100,000 tickets sold on the first day.

Still Game started life as a theatre show before moving to radio, becoming a TV sketch and then a sitcom in 2002.

At an event to launch the TV series earlier this week, Hemphill and Kiernan ruled out a movie version of the show
