LEE EVANS has scooped the Christmas No 1 for stand-up DVD sales, having spent five weeks in that slot. Miranda Hart is No 2, followed by Mrs Browns Boys, Sarah Millican, Lee Mack and Russell Howard according to the Offical Top 40. In the TV charts, Micky Flanagan’s Detour De France ended at No 2, behind Top Gear and above Game Of Thrones.

STAND-UP Kojo is leaving his job as breakfast show host on Capital Xtra. He says the move will allow him to return to his ‘first love, stand up comedy’, adding: ‘It’s been nearly five years waking you all up in the mornings and I’ve loved every second of it.’ His last weekday show will be on Christmas Eve, but he will continue to work for the station, hosting a show from 6am to 9am on Saturdays

THE finalists have been announced for the Naty New Act Of The Year Awards. A total of 144 entrants were whittled down to: Sean Patrick, Josh R Cherry, Chris Betts, Ashley Haden, Francis Foster, Mikey Bharj, Don Biswas, The Jest, Rachel Fairburn, Nick Elleray, Daniel Duffy, Cheekykita, Joe Sutherland, Jenny Collier, The Herbert. The final, hosted by Arthur Smith, is at the Bloomsbury Theatre on January 25.

NETFLIX has signed a deal for the first season of police comedy Brooklyn Nine Nine, starring Andy Samberg and airing on E4 in the UK. The first 22 episodes are available now.

SIX two-day workshops on ‘creating comedy for TV’ are to be held across the UK in January and February, led by former comedy commissioner Graham Smith and producer Mark Robson, of Grand Scheme Media. Details are Published: 22 Dec 2014
