High Hopes for a return...

BBC Wales comedy back in 2015

BBC Wales comedy High Hopes is to return to TV screens for the first time in seven years.

The show, set in the fictional village of Cwm Pen-Ôl, will be back for an hour-long special produced and directed by former BBC head of comedy Gareth Gwenlan.

He said: ‘The comedy’s always had a loyal and enthusiastic following and this special return promises to be a real treat.

‘Fans have been patiently waiting for this return – so it’s an early Christmas gift from us, knowing they won’t have to wait much longer.’

The special, written by Boyd Clack and Kirsten Jones, will air in March as part of the Real Valleys season – featuring stories from the South Wales Valleys, told by the people who live there.

High Hopes charted the exploits of the crooked Hepplewhite household for six series between 2002 and 2008.
