Modest start for Up The Women

But Psychobitches does well for Sky

Jessica Hynes' new suffragette comedy Up The Women got off to a modest start in the ratings last night.

Despite decent media coverage of the new BBC Four show, it attracted an audience of 339,000 on its first airing.

That’s more than 20 per cent down on the 438,000 that 8.30pm slot normally takes.

Meanwhile, the launch of Sky Arts’s comedy Psychobitches – in which comedians play a range of famous women from history on the psychiatrist’s couch – attracted 80,000 viewers.

Although the figure is relatively small, it is more than twice the slot average.

The overnight Barb figures are supplied by Attentional.
