Matt Lucas pilots improv chat show

Guests are comic characters

Matt Lucas is being lined up for a new improvised ITV chat show – in which all the guests are fictional comedy characters.

He and Rebecca Front are among the comics playing the guests in Chat Show Roulette – but they won’t be told the details of their character until just before they appear. Names, occupations and life stories, are suggested by the audience, then drawn out of a hat.

Justin Edwards – best known as drunk children’s entertainer Jeremy Lion as well as Ben Swain on The Thick Of It – will play the host of the show, which is being developed by Lucas’s company, John Stanley Productions.

Two run-throughs are being staged in front of a studio audience in London early next week. See our free tickets page if you wish to be at the event.

It has previously been performed as a live show at the Soho Theatre and the Hen and Chickens in London.
