Seth MacFarlane's live-action sitcom

Fox orders series from Family Guy guy

Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane is to make a new live-action sitcom.

America’s Fox network has commissioned six episodes of Dads.

The order came without shooting a tryout episode as executives were so impressed with the script, according to Hollywood industry website Deadline.

It also can’t have hurt that he is already responsible for one of the network’s big animation hits.

Dads about two successful middle-aged guys whose lives are turned upside down when their nightmare fathers move in with them

MacFarlane will be executive producer on Dads, which is being scripted by Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild – his two co-writers on Ted, his first feature film.

A sequel to the movie – about a man who’s best friend is his childhood teddy bear, who came to life following a Christmas wish – is also in the works.
