League Of Gentlemen: We could 'reconvene'

Troupe say they never actually split

The League Of Gentlemen could ‘reconvene’, its stars have said – insisting they never formally split up after their 2005 feature film.

In a combined interview, performers Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith said they had considered working together again, alongside non-acting writer Jeremy Dyson.

‘We're all friends of course,’ Pemberton told Radio Times. ‘But The League of Gentlemen does seem a long time ago now.’

‘I genuinely think the time will come, and not years and years away, when we will reconvene,’ Shearsmith added. ‘It probably wouldn't be Royston Vasey but it will be something.’

And Gatiss said: ‘Just as Abba never split up, we just stopped doing it. We've always talked about doing something else.’

The three have appeared together since League of Gentlemen ended, when Gatiss guested on Pemberton and Shearsmith’s Psychoville, as well as on children’s comedy Horrible Histories.
