Matt Lucas: I'm not splitting from David

Newspaper reports denied

Matt Lucas has reassured fans he is not splitting up with David Walliams.

The Sun today claimed that the pair were going their separate ways after 20 years together, and that a planned second series of Come Fly With Me had been scrapped.

But on Twitter, Lucas assured his 340,000 followers that despite having separate projects, he would continue to work with Walliams, who he first met the National Youth Theatre in 1990

Walliams fronts Sky’s new panel show Wall Of Fame, while Lucas returns to Les Miserables in London's West End next week and has just filmed a new BBC One pilot, as Chortle reported yesterday.

An unnamed ‘friend’ told The Sun: ‘They still get on but as far as being working partners is concerned, that had ground to a halt. They both wanted to do completely different things. Neither wants to be defined by the partnership any more. They want to be known as more than those guys that do Little Britain.’

But Lucas tweeted: ‘Some Tweeters and newspapers assuming that because we are doing our own shows, me and Dave have split up. We haven't!’

A couple of weeks ago Walliams told students at the Oxford Union that the pair were doing their own things, but would ‘re-group at some point and see what the future holds’.
