Front joins Thick Of It
Rebecca is satire's new minister
Rebecca Front is to replace disgraced Chris Langham in the next series of The Thick Of It.The actress will play Nicola Murray MP, the new Minister Of Social Affairs, the position once held by Lanhgam’s Hugh Abbott.
Revealing the news on his Twitter account, the show’s mastermind Armando Iannuuci said that Front’s casting ‘That tickles me stupid’.
Iannucci is currently working on eight new Thick Of It scripts for BBC Two, as well as discussing plans for a US version with the HBO network.
Front has previously worked with Iannucci on On The Hour, The Day Today and Knowing Me, Knowing You...with Alan Partridge. She also played brewery rep Vicky Jackson in Al Murray’s sitcom Time Gentlemen Please.
