BBC pulls Horne & Corden sketch
The sketch featured the duo as West Country magicians performing an interpretative dance supposedly to ‘magic away’ gun crime.
They mimic guns with their fingers, before falling to the floor, as if shot. At one point, Corden says ‘Shit, I've been shot’, to which Horne reacts: ‘Can everyone stop getting shot?’
But in light of this week’s events, the two-minute sketch has been removed from the iPlayer version of the show, and will be cut from the four remaining repeats scheduled for BBC Three this week.
Despite being panned by critics, the first episode of Horne & Corden attracted 817,000 viewers the BBC Three, the best ratings for a comedy debut the channel has ever achieved.
The BBC said in a statement: ‘Following the tragic events in Winnenden on Wednesday, a decision was taken to remove the final scene of episode one of Horne & Corden for all repeats, including iPlayer.’
