Peter Kay's Xmas DVD

...and, no, there's no new stand-up material

Peter Kay is putting out another DVD this Christmas – even though he hasn’t been on tour in years.

The comic attracted criticism in 2005 by releasing a second DVD of his Mum Wants A Bungalow stand-up tour, as many fans didn’t realise it contained the same material as 2003’s Live At Bolton Albert Halls.

Last year, he was accused of being ‘absolutely shameless’ for releasing Stand Up UKay, another compilation of his existing material. He even released a Max & Paddy’s fitness DVD in 2005.

Now he risks being accused of further exploiting his fans with Special Kay, which compiles together just about every scrap of footage that hasn't been released before.

The disc - which is priced £21.99 – contains the adverts he did for John Smiths bitter, despite not being a drinker, and appearances on Comic Relief and Children In Need.

It also includes his debut stand-up performance, early appearances on Granada’s The Last Laugh Show and Coronation Street, chat show appearances with Michael Parkinson and Jonathan Ross, and the video for his hit single The Winners Song from Britain’s Got The Pop Factor. The DVD will be released on Universal on November 17.
