New comedy Iain the pipeline?

Iain Lee works on sketch show

Former 11 O’Clock Show presenter Ian Lee is working on a new TV comedy – and his hoping to persuade Mackenzie Crook to take part.

Lee is making a 20-minute showreel of sketches as a pilot for the BBC with Bob Mortimer’s company Pett Productions.

He has approached the former Office star to take part in the comedy – which has been described as being similar to Men Behaving Badly – but Crook might not have the time.

Lee told The Sun: ‘Me and Mackenzie live together and crazy things happen, like Rod Stewart sending us an electrified box with 75 quid in it. We try to break into it but keep getting shocks.’

But a source close to Crook told Chortle: ‘They've asked Mackenzie to be in it. If he can do some bits, he will but I doubt that it will fit in his schedule.’

Pett Productions’s previous shows include Tittybangbank and Catterick.
