Edmonds, Jordan up for comedy awards

Loaded magazine has announced the shortlists for its annual Laftas comedy awards – with Jordan, Big Brother’s Nikki Grahame, Noel Edmonds and Chris Moyles among the nominees.

But there are more credible contenders, too, with Extras, The Mighty Boosh, Peep Show, Friday Night Project and Saxondale up for best TV comedy.

Peter Kay is up for best stand-up, despite not having performed in the past year, but faces competition from Russell Brand, Jimmy Carr, Bill Bailey and Lee Mack.

Loaded editor Martin Daubney said: ‘I can’t wait for these worthy nominees to join us in a boozy celebration of British humour.’
