Vicky Pollard, the movie

It's the big screen for Little Britain

Little Britain could be made into a movie.

BBC chiefs, who passed up the recent chance of making the League Of Gentlemen film, believe the antics of Vicky Pollard could prove an equal success on the big screen.

And any transfer into cinemas could be important for stars Matt Lucas and David Walliams, who had reportedly considered giving the show a rest after the third series, which is currently being filmed.

BBC  Three controller Stuart Murphy told today’s Sun: ‘Little Britain definitely won’t kick the bucket after the third series.

‘We like the idea of a film, and lots of people in the movie business are  very interested.

‘You have to have a good story and Vicky is one of the characters we feel could hold up a film. You could easily explore her story and introduce family and friends.’

The third series of the show, which will launch on BBC One and BBC Three later this year,  includes  a number of new characters.

Among them are

  • Letty, a woman obsessed by frogs, dead or alive
  • Bubbles de Vere’s ex-husband, played by Keith Barret star Rob Brydon
  • Dudley, a shy man intimidated by his Thai bride Ting Tong Macadangdang
