Hall creates new characters for BBC4

Rich Hall has created some new comic characters for his forthcoming BBC4 show.

In Rich Hall's Fishing Show, the Perrier-winner shoots the breeze with Canadian comic Mike Wilmot while angling in The Trossochs region of Scotland.

They will also be joined on their fishing boat by guests including Germaine Greer, Uri Geller and Paul Daniels - as well as Hall's new characters.

They include a severed head who enjoys conversations in the woods and a local entrepreneur called Charles Manson who bears an uncanny resemblance to his infamous namesake.

Hall won the Perrier in 2000 for his last creation, jailbird blues singer Otis Lee Crenshaw.

He said: "This is the funniest fishing series ever made for BBC4.

"And if you don't like the humour, you can turn the volume down and just admire the scenery."

Rich Hall's Fishing Show starts on BBC4 on Tuesday November 11 at 10pm, repeated on Thursdays.
