Oh my God, it's Kilkenny

Festival line-up unveiled

Rich Hall, Bill Bailey, Daniel Kitson and Jimmy Carr are among the comics lined up for this year's Kilkenny Comedy Festival.

Now in its ninth year, the 'Cat Laughs' event is the most prestigious comedy festival in Ireland and has become a firm favourite with acts from both sides of the Atlantic.

Others attending include Dom Irrera, Fred MacAulay, Ed Byrne, Owen O'Neill and Dara O'Briain.

Tony Hawks and Father Ted star Pauline McLynn will be there for literary events, and other stands are dedicated to short comedy films and to cartoons.

The four-day event takes place from May 30 to June 2. The festival website, which was launched on Friday, has further details.
