Tavare lands Harry Potter part

Jim Tavare has landed a part in the next Harry Potter film.

The stand-up will play Tom, the innkeeper of The Leaky Cauldron in the third movie, The Prisoner Of Azkaban.

Tavare admitted: "I didn't know much until I researched the character on the various Harry Potter websites. Apparently he resembles a wizened toothless walnut."

Work on the film starts soon, and it will be released in June next year.

In the meantime, Tavare is making a return to TV screens from February 27, when the second series of The Sketch Show starts on ITV1.
