Japes for apes

Comics line up for monkey benefit

A host of comedy stars are to perform in a prestigious fundraiser - to help save apes.

The Big Night for a Great Ape benefit has been organised by Karel Beer, who runs Paris's English language comedy club Laughing Matters.

And the fundraiser, appropriately enough, is being held in London's plush Café de Paris nightclub.

Among those lined up to perform are Rich Hall, Jeff Green, Ross Noble, Dave Fulton, Arnold Brown, Tom Rhodes, Simon Munnery, Sean Lock, Stephen Frost, Hattie Hayridge and Danny Bhoy.

Even more special guests are expected during Tuesday night's show.

The gig starts at 8pm and tickets, priced £30, are available from 020 7724 2912 or on the door. Proceeds will help the Orangutan Foundation.
