Hooray for Holyrood?

Scottish political satire launched

The Scottish Parliament has spawned its first satire show.

Edinburgh comedy club The Stand is launching a monthly political comedy show inspired by devolution.

The first show, entitled A Kick Up The Tabloids and hosted by Vladimir McTavish and John Flint, takes place on September 13.

Club director Tommy Sheppard said: "Now that Scotland has its own Parliament, it was only a matter of time until it developed its own political satire to go with it.

"I am pleased that The Stand can help get this show off the ground and hope it will become a permanent feature of the Scottish political landscape."
