Tara Flynn talks abortion on Jim Jefferies' US show

Fighting the Irish ban

Irish comic Tara Flynn has appeared on Jim Jefferies' US show to talk about Ireland's abortion ban.

Flynn has been an outspoken critic of Ireland's Eighth Amendment, which bars the termination of pregnancies, forcing those Irish women with the means to travel to mainland UK to undergo the procedure.

Jefferies asked her about her own experiences and how she jokes about them. Then Flynn goaded Jefferies into making his own abortion gags.

The show also featured anti-abortion politician Justin Barrett, who says abortions are driven by 'pure blood lust' and has called those who undertake terminations as 'murderous lunatics' and 'baby killers'.

But rather than interview him in Dublin, the Comedy Central show made him fly to London - just as those women needing abortions have to do.
