I agree that the promoters of the show should make a statement distancing themselves from the misogyny and contempt for women and girls demonstrated by Gervais. How can anyone think this kind of material is remotely funny?

How can it be OK to make violent and sexist jokes about raping an older alzheimic woman? 'cos according to Gervais,'the police will never believe her' and a story involving an 8yr old girl who is sexual abused in the park and complains to her father, who masturbates while she is telling him what she was asked to do'.....if these jokes were racist or homophobic all hell would break loose but sexism and the vile abuse of woman and girls is an easy target for this untalented poor excuse for a F*ckwit man! The promoters of this show should issue a statement distancing themselves from this sexist and abusive male.

The night was incredible with the notable exception of Mr Gervais who found that keeping to the topic was rather too much effort for him. Much easier to joke about having raped an old woman and about the molesting of an eight-year-old girl. Very poor taste. Very poor 'comedian'.

An okay night. Very good first half with a great bill: Ricky Gervais, Stewart Lee, Mark Thomas, Robin Ince, Isy Suttie and a rather good scientist were on top form. However the second half really dragged on with too many scientists and unfunny musical acts (one of them even got a booed a bit). So it wasn't quite as good as I thought, as the audience got more and more restless. But first half was great as were Dara O Briain and Tim Minchin. 3/5
