I was already a big fan of Silky from seeing him compere at his Kill For A Seat comedy nights, but even he excelled himself at this gig (despite having to handle some of the most surreal heckling I've ever heard!). First time I'd seen Alistair, but thought he was hilarious, bringing a uniquely fresh take to usually-hackneyed subjects like George Dubya and Iraq. Great stuff. Both extremely-funny natural comedians.

Thursday was my third time at Mold and it was definitely the best, great comedy and I actually laughed so hard I was sick. Although don't tell Theatre Clwyd that it was me. Can't wait for the next one, am bringing more comedy pilgrims every time!

I saw Doubled Up at The Basement Bar in York and absolutely loved it! I can't remember when I laughed so much. It was hilarious! I just loved Alistair's comic style with his thoughtful observations and comments on a range of issues. This complemented Silky's laid back and natural humour so perfectly. The songs were great too. Shall certainly see them again!

Best laugh in the Edinburgh Stand I've seen, if you get the chance go see them they're worth the cash

Saw Doubled up last night in Mold. wow that was fantastic! Seen Al Barrie before but first time for Silky...Definitely going to see him again! Moving from evolutionary genetics through metalurgy and matchmaking the audience; no subject too obscure...if you haven't been...make an effort they are more than worth it :0) My ears hurt from referred jaw ache..

I was at the Crouch End gig too. Sufficiently funny that none of us minded the hangovers the next day - or the long trek north of the river to get there. Highly recommended!

I saw Doubled Up At The Lescar in Sheffield, and enjoyed myself from start to finish, with Alistair on first (which seems to be a rare occurence from what I've heard) and Silky on last. A superb (if quiet) gig from both guys, my favourite story ever from Silky, and the offer to a male student of free entry, IF Silky could cut his hair (the student's not his own, you'd have a job) live on stage, and the best rendition of VVL I've ever heard. In short, pure class.

I was at the Doubled Up gig in Crouch End Tuesday 8th May 2007, and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. I attended with my girlfriend, and 3 housemates. I have seen both Silky and Alistair a few times before, be it in larger and more full surroundings. I must admit I wasn't sure how the night would go, due to it being directly after a bank holiday Monday and having only a few people there, but by the end of Silky's hour, my face was actually hurting from laughter (a cliche I know, but totally true!). My friends commented to me during the interval that it was like having a really funny mate come and chat to you for an hour in your living room, then leave you with aching jaws. Alistair then more than delivered the goods, in Alistair's own smooth way, leaving myself and my friends more than happy at the end of the evening. My friends all had to get up early for work the next day, but were totally cool with the idea, as they'd just spent two hours in the company of these lovely warm fellas, and we all left with fond memories of the night. Go check out a Doubled Up night near you. Well worth it!
