Saw Diane's show in Edinburgh in mid August 2011. Excellent straight-talking, intelligent, engaging, and very funny stand-up. She told several separate fascinating true anecdotes - with that story-teller's gift of getting gold from everyday events - and then neatly brought them all up together at the end. Great writing and performance. She's enormously likeable too.

I thought this show was sublime when I saw it. Just stand up how it should be. It really gets my goat how the female torch-bearers of edinburgh (Long, Millican, Eclair, etc.) are not a match on some other, lesser knowns, like Diane Spencer. I really loved this show, and it's a shame it wasn't even shortlisted for best newcomer (though full credit to Roisin, her winning effort was equally marvellous).
