Pluck: The Titanic Show
“Hallelujah! Pluck is back!” Music and mayhem combine as the world’s silliest string trio pays hilarious tribute to the musicians who famously played on to the end. Featuring one massive porthole, a real iceberg, and the biggest peanut on the fringe! With NO Celine Dion. Directed by Cal McCrystal.

These guys were probably the funniest show I saw at the Fringe this season, and having seen over 30, I would say that that is quite an achievement Paul, June 2009 |

No huge laughs but a steady stream of smirks, giggles and admiration at their musical antics. The disruptive cellist could maybe be more of a 'thorn in the side' for comic effect especially by involving the audience more in the disruption. alan, August 2008 |

I saw this show at the Fringe on Wednesday 13 August 2008 and whilst the auditorium wasn't packed, it had a very healthy number of visitors which reassured me somewhat, as I'd never seen this trio before and I have to admit, I selected tickets for this show at the last minute. I needn't have worried. Although the show began gently, with just a few chuckles, it did get funnier as the show went on. The premise is simple: they pay homage to the band who played on the Titanic and I'm sure I'm not spoiling anyone's enjoyment by revealing that the ship sank. The trio's performance however, remained buoyant throughout and there were several genuinely clever set pieces. The 'special effects' were funny in their crapness and the whole show was interspersed with classical music, played expertly and poignantly, particulary the scene where the ship is sinking. If you'd like a flavour of what the Edinburgh Fringe can be all about - talented people putting on an original and entertaining show, then you might want to plump for Pluck.
