Yianni: Maybe YOU'D like to teach the class?!?
Show type: Edinburgh Fringe 2007
'Do you know all of this Yianni? If you’re so clever, maybe YOU’D like to teach the class?'
In 1987, Yianni’s teacher asked him that exact question. Yianni stood up, entertained the thought and then backed down. He simply had nothing to say. “Surely!” he reasoned – with childish naiveté – his teacher knew best. But an ensuing 20 years with a disappointing lack of long division and finding real-world titration opportunities thin on the ground has Yianni questioning the relevance of much of his education.
The magic of theatre has gifted Yianni a second chance to teach his school class. With the benefit of 20 years experience, the curriculum has changed. Out go quadratics, the periodic table and Venn diagrams. In come the tricks advertisers use to con you out of your money, acceptable uses of profanity and a show stopping mathematical proof that manages to marry love, threesomes and the meaning of life

Like the man says he's a wordsmith of the highest calibre and truly hilarious with it. Teachings loss is Edinburgh's gain, although he did say he was a trained lawyer? Suppose it depends what profession you trust the most. I'll take the comedian anytime.

I'm pretty new to the festival but Jesus! i didn't realize you could get this quality for free. Go see this show! I thought it was a great wee laugh! Only small downside was the venue is small and hot!
