Show Rating:How To Pimp Your Kids And Shop For Free At Waitrose rated 2/5

Matthew Collins is a middle-aged former BBC Travel Show presenter who hasn’t lost his itchy feet.

The bulk of the show is about taking his two boys on marathon journeys through the US and Canada and then writing books on his experiences.

Sharing these tales is entertaining, like listening to an author at a book reading. Not laugh a minute, but in the hands of an endearing speaker an enjoyable enough time.

Some of the stories and footage of his boys are truly funny, such as his youngest trying to revive a fish in the sink. But there are moments when the proud father takes over from the author and it feels like you are sitting through dull stories only a parent would find interesting.

The last part of the show addresses the title of the show, how Collins feels he has financially profited off his kids and how to save money at the supermarket. In pithier hands this could have been a funny househusband’s guide to survival, in Collins’ hands tends more toward the informative rather than he hilarious.
