Perret discovers the delights of feminism (as a man) and religion (as a non-believer). He does like trains but is ridiculed in the 'rail enthusiast' fraternity for his inability to spot numbers.

I caught this show in London- it was bizarre, chaotic fun and several of the guests have gone on to great things (Josie Long was in it when I saw it, and Martin White who popped up in The Culture Show too). Perret does a kind of extended collapse of a deluded poet, but was still somehow an amiable host and did an apparently improvised attempt at feminist chat-up which was superb.

I've been going to the fringe for decade and have never begrudged the price of a ticket before Perret. The ' gorgeous songstress Annalie Wilson' who we thought was going to help couldn't make it. Probably never existed. So far so ironic and silly us for not realising she was part of the joke. So we just had Perret. He drafted in a couple of people from other shows, including someone from a Dr Who show, this to fill up the time presumably. Perret recited bad poetry, presumably his own, then the lyrics of Elvis Presley which he also did badly and without a scrap of humour. Oh apparently check the blurb for the show all this lack of talent, lack of writing ability sheer bad performance was to 'fight the batttle against easy laughter.' Well here's the bad news.. we would have screamed for some easy laughter. 20 mins in.. and this was too long we left. So maybe Matthew in the fight against easy laughter shot himself at the end.. the only thing that I can think of that would have improved this show. Avoid him, and this show, at all costs
