Jesus: The Guantanamo Years
Jesus Christ (Son of God and father of modern stand-up) returns
to earth for His long-awaited comeback tour. He doesn't get past
U.S. immigration: He's a bearded, Middle-Eastern guy, prepared
to die as a religious martyr. He is immediately detained under
the Patriot Act.
In His first one-man show for almost two millennia, Jesus
talks exclusively about His time in Guantanamo, His controversial
relationship with His Father, and His on-going legal battle with

Original Review:
Review The idea of Christianity being a joke isn't a new one: there's The high concept of the show opens the door for some new takes If this all sounds a little like Life of Brian, you'll be Alas there are some downsides to the show including an unnecessary This is half of a great show that raises some interesting It's just a shame Bowman didn't take another year to truly Dean Love |

Fantastic show, not one that left me in pain from laughing so much as some shows have, but it was very funny and made some very valid points. I would happily see it again. Clair, August 2006 |

A wonderful show, it brings back a light hearted feel that has been absent in comedy for some time. The concept is indeed fantastic and the show fills it out, perhaps not as much as I would have imagined but for a first Fringe show this is to be somewhat expected. I'd urge anybody looking for an enjoyable light hearted mockery of the over zealous go see this show George Watts, August 2006 |

Appalling stuff - saw a preview of this in Dublin. Awful hubristic drivel, told falteringly with little humour and no wit. The whole thing hinges on one idiotic conceit - that Jesus would be arrested by American authorities if he were alive today - and relentlessly trots out this tedious observation. Philbin Bowman is almost entirely devoid of charm to boot. Particularly for someone who literally envisages himself as the son of God John Ryan, July 2006 |
