Show Rating:The Chanclettes: Gone With The Wig rated 5/5

This kitsch and outlandish Catalan foursome are a visually compelling treat. Clad in their spectacular costumes, they are a sight to behold.

Their brilliant dance routines are played out to a backing track packed full of snatched dialogue of everything from Marilyn Monroe to Absolutely Fabulous, while paying homage to Hollywood greats such as Bette Davis and Judy Garland.

There was no dialogue as such - the often tasteless gags coming merely from lip-synching - and very few props, but the Spanish troupe, who wrote this show specially for this year's fringe, certainly made up for it in glamour, outrageous wigs and delightfully extravagant clothes. It's drag queen heaven!

The scenes were fluid, and there was no time for boredom. In fact I felt that if I blinked I would have missed something.

Collectively, the four guys had razor-sharp timing and expressions that had the audience laughing out loud throughout. Individually they seemed to shine when in character and they seemed to love every minute of it, as did I.

As soon it was over, I just wanted to see it all again.
