Original Review:
When invaded by the London showbiz industry, it's easy to forget that Edinburgh has a comedy scene outside the month of August. Yet home-grown talents Bill Dewer and Brian Hennigan are putting some of the more famous names to shame with their exuberant no-budget show The Useless Guide To Scotland. Sparking off each other perfectly, this playful double act bound through their amusing set about the general shittiness of Scottish life with skill and verve. They play fast and loose with the sketches, and genuinely come across as two mates having a whale of a time performing an infectious attitude that soon spreads to an appreciative audience. This is a show driven purely by the gregarious personalities of the comics. The fact the gags are good, if not ground-breaking, is more than a bonus. Give yourself a treat. Go see some Edinburgh comics in Edinburgh. |
