The Orange Girls

Note: This review is from 2000

Review by Steve Bennett

In their blurb, this double act allude to Morecambe and Wise.

But in reality, they are more akin to Little and Large.

For that's the basis of much of their banter. One is tall and well-built, the other so slight she can fit into children's clothes.

While this is amusing the first time they spar, the gag is allowed to run dry very quickly.

Their sketches, too, are generally weak except for an incongruous gem of a routine about nine-year-old bridesmaids lacking characterisation, endings and, most obviously, jokes.

The Orange Girls really are taking the pith. And that's the quality of much of their material.
