A 'special' snafu

Producer accidentally slates the stand-up he's promoting

comedyOops! The producers of a stand-up special from James Mullinger have accidentally insulted the Canadian-based British comic.

The comedian’s Anything Is Possible show is to be streamed on Amazon Prime from next week. In it, he tells of how he moved from London to the New Brunswick town of Saint John’s – a journey that culminated in him recording this show in front of 5,000 people in a hometown gig.

It is the first stand-up special to be released internationally that was filmed in the province and Mullinger gushed: ‘I am incredibly overjoyed that I am getting to show the rest of the world how beautiful New Brunswick is’

But in a press release announcing the news, executive producer Greg Hemmings accidentally slated the comic, saying: ‘It’s our job as filmmakers to let audiences know that legends are only found in the bigger centres like New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.’

A ‘not’ missing there, perhaps?

Anything Is Possible will be available to Amazon Prime subscribers from September 5. Here is a trailer:
