Jerry Seinfeld rebuffs Kesha

The writers' motto on Seinfeld was 'No Hugging, No Learning' – and it seems that Jerry Seinfeld has taken that mantra into real life too.

Singer Kesha tried to embrace the comedian on the red carpet on Monday night - and was brutally refused.

The music star is a fan, and when she spotted Seinfeld being interviewed by radio host Tommy McFly, she head to let him know.

'I love you so much,' she said. 'Can I give you a hug?'

'No, thanks,' he said.

Apparently thinking Seinfeld was joking, she persisted: 'Please? A little one?

'Yeah, no thanks,' Seinfeld said, in no uncertain terms, as he backed away defensively.

Afterwards the comic admitted he didn't know who Kesha was, so McFly filled him in.

'Well, I wish her the best,' he said.
