Calm fundraiser tied to World Cup

Romesh Ranganathan has become a new ambassador for men's mental health charity Calm.

And he has been joined by Rob Beckett in a new campaign to raise funds by selling charity England T-shirts ahead of the World Cup.

The #MarkYourMan shirts are available from Tesco, with £1 from the sale of each going to the helpline charity. They each depict halves of the St George’s Cross, either left or right, with the full image revealed when two men stand next to each other.

Ranganathan said: ‘I am delighted to be able to be involved with a cause that I think is so important. I have friends and family who have been affected by male suicide and so the opportunity to shed some light on something that affects so many people is a welcome one.

‘I look forward to trying to help make any difference that I possibly can.

Calm works to prevent suicide, which is the biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK. It has a 24-hour helpline on 0800 585858 or 0808 802 5858 in London.
