Nick Page does Britain's Got Talent

Former BBC presenter hopes for 'validation;

Nick Page will become the latest stand-up to take on the Britain’s Got Talent auditions tonight.

The Gloucestershire.-based comic has previously hosted the BBC’s Escape to the Country and won the title of English Comedian of the Year in 2017

A former estate agent, the 48-year-old says he is taking part in the show as it's 'about validation and people saying "you’re good enough – you can do this"'.

In 2005, Page was convicted of a £32,000 mortgage fraud and had to complete 200 hours of community service. He told The Sun: 'I was really really stupid. I was very lucky not to go to prison.'

He follows the likes of Noel James, Lost Voice Guy and Micky P Kerr on this series of Britain’s Got Talent. Judges Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden have previously said they would like a comedian to win the series.

Page's audition clip will air on the ITV show to be broadcast from 8pm tonight.
