Have you got a NATY comedy act?

Talent hunt seeks competitors for 2018

The annual NATY new act of the year competition has put out a call for entries.

Organisers at New Variety Lives are seeking 100 acts to audition, with emphasis on ‘original comedy performance’

The competition, which originated as the Hackney Empire New Act Of The Year,  has a reputation for looking beyond traditional stand-up performances.

After the auditions at Rich Mix in East London, 12 acts will be selected to perform their five-minute sets in the NATYs Top of the Bill season finale at the same venue on February 11.  There they will be seen by an audience that includes comedy scouts and reviewers.

Previous finalists have included Stewart Lee, Daniel Kitson, Micky Flanagan, Russell Brand and Spencer Jones, pictured.
