Lenny Henry makes Commonwealth documentary

Filmed in the Caribbean

Sir Lenny Henry is to present a BBC One documentary about the British Commonwealth.

In the one-off, hour-long show, the comedian will tour the Caribbean to hear what the Commonwealth means to the people who live there, from street vendors to government officials .

He said: ‘I’m delighted and excited to revisit where my parents grew up and explore things I don’t know about Jamaica and the Bahamas especially in the context of the Commonwealth.’

The BBC says the film, provisionally titled The Commonwealth Kid, will be a ‘funny and fascinating journey into the body, mind and soul of the Caribbean’

It will coincide with the Commonwealth Summit taking place in London in 2018, for the first time in over 30 years.
