New event for Edinburgh TV festival

Charlie Brooker is to offer a Black Mirror masterclass with the show’s executive producer Annabel Jones. 

The session has been announced for this year’s Edinburgh International TV Festival in August.

Organisers say the pair will ‘delve into the Black Mirror archives and discuss the origination and continued Inspiration behind their satirical, often uncomfortably prophetic televisual phenomenon.’ 

Brooker said: ‘We're looking forward to testing everyone's patience with our mindless wittering’ – while  Jones added: ‘We’re flattered and relieved to be asked to share the misery and despair that is making Black Mirror.’

Festival curator Diederick Santer said: ‘This session promises to be one of the highlights of the festival.  Charlie and Annabel are a formidable partnership and I can’t wait to learn how they work together to create such astonishing TV.’

Early bird registration for the festival is open now, priced £610 – plus VAT.
