C4 comedy up for Edinburgh TV Award

Channel 4 comedy Flowers has been nominated for best new show in the Edinburgh TV Awards.

Starring Olivia Colman and Julian Barratt, it is the only comedy shortlisted in the awards, which are handed out at the Edinburgh International Television Festival in August.

It is up against fellow C4 shows National Treasure and Interview With A Murderer, The Crown (Netflix), Apple Tree Yard (BBC One) and  Slum Britain: 50 Years On (Channel 5).

Portrait Artist of the Year, which Frank Skinner presents for Sky Arts, is among the shows shortlisted for best factual programme.

Festival director Lisa Campbell said: ‘It's been another incredible year of creative excellence.’
