Could you be on the Edinburgh Comedy Awards jury?

Entries open for public panellist position

Entries have opened to be a ‘people’s panellist’ on this year’s Edinburgh Comedy Awards.

The winner will get accommodation, travel and show tickets at the Fringe – but be expected to see at least six shows a day and report back.

Sam Haslam, one of the 2016 public panellists said: ‘As a comedy fan, sitting on the panel was the ultimate way to experience everything the Fringe has to offer.

‘It's an intense experience which will immerse you in the comedy world, and give you the chance to see and discuss more comedy than you thought was possible with industry experts.

‘If you enjoy comedy in all shapes and sizes and you don't mind a spot of rain, you will not regret applying.’

Awards producers say: ‘We are looking for real punters who know and care about comedy.’

Entrants must write 350 words about why they are the best candidate by midday on May 12. Full details are here.
