Prank correspondence from Friday Night Dinner creator Robert Popper

Dawn French and Peter Serafinowicz have recorded an audio version of Robert Popper’s Timewaster Letters.

The Friday Night Dinner creator compiled two books of bizarre correspondence in the mid-2000s, with his alter-ego Robin Cooper sharing surreal ideas and musings with the likes of the British Halibut Association and the Peanut Council.

In the new Audible exclusive series, Popper will be reading out his letters with French and Serafinowicz voicing the replies.

The Timewaster Letters Compendium will also include many of Popper’s prank telephone calls made in his Robin Cooper guise as well as The Cement Murder Mystery, the first thriller story  penned by Cooper and read by actor Jonathan Keeble.

Popper said: ‘I’m sorry I’m not available to comment, as I have just fallen under some ice.’

The Timewaster Letters Compendium – which also includes a conversation between Popper and Serafinowicz about the project - will be available to Audible subscribers from  February 18.

Serafinowicz previously worked with Popper on the cult hit Look Around You.
